Charlton Athletic Women to host Aston Villa at The Valley in October

Charlton Athletic Women will host Women’s Championship rivals Aston Villa at The Valley on Saturday, October 12th at 3pm.

As there is no Charlton men’s fixture that day due to the international break, the club are encouraging Addicks supporters to head down to SE7 and back the Women’s side.

Charlton Athletic Women have played a number of games at The Valley over the past few seasons, including a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Millwall Lionesses last season.

Riteesh Mishra’s side surprised many on their first season in the Championship last term, finishing third and just missing out on what would have been a second consecutive promotion.

And with the continued improvement around the team and the positive momentum of women’s football generated this summer by the England Lionesses, Charlton Athletic Women will be hoping to secure their largest crowd for more than a decade.

Charlton Athletic Women’s team general manager Steve Adamson said: “The international break has provided the perfect opportunity to showcase women’s football in the traditional 3pm Saturday window.”

Charlton Athletic club secretary Chris Parkes added: “We’re delighted to host Charlton Athletic Women’s team at The Valley again this season.

“The team has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with their promotion to the Championship being followed by a very impressive promotion push last season.

“We want to support Charlton Athletic Women drive their largest crowd for many years, which is why we wanted to have the game as a 3pm kick-off on a Saturday, allowing supporters to go about their usual matchday routines.”

Tickets are on sale now and cost from £5 for adults and £3 for concession and can be booked via the Charlton Athletic Women’s ticket portal.
