Ayoub Assal and Ollie Palmer both scored twice as AFC Wimbledon survived a late scare to reach the FA Cup Third Round with an entertaining 4-3 win over Cheltenham Town.
Alfie May gave the visitors an early lead before Assal and Palmer swept the Dons into what appeared to be an insurmountable 4-1 lead.
However, Andy Williams and a Ben Heneghan own goal gave the home side some anxious moments late on but the Dons held on to book their place in the next round.
Meanwhile, it was more comfortable for Leyton Orient who cruised to a 4-0 win over fellow League Two side Tranmere Rovers at Brisbane Road.
The O’s were rewarded for a totally dominant first-half performance with a two-goal lead at the interval, courtesy of strikes from Harry Smith and Omar Beckles.
A 60th minute penalty from Aaron Drinan further extended the lead before Smith got his second and Orient’s fourth late on.
Elsewhere, Sutton United were knocked out of the competition 2-1 by Bristol Rovers – despite taking the lead at the Memorial Stadium.
The Us opened the scoring in the 50th minute when Will Randall-Hurren converted Donovan Wilson’s cross only for Aaron Collins to level from the spot seven minutes later.
And the winner was sealed soon after as Nick Anderton’s crisp finish dumped the famous giant killers out.
And in Friday night’s game, two goals from top scorer Jayden Stockley helped Charlton Athletic see off a lively Gateshead 2-0 at the International Stadium.
