Brentford consolidated third in the Championship table with a 1-0 win over Rotherham United in a hard-fought and entertaining top-versus-bottom clash at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Bryan Mbeumo’s glancing header from Sergi Canos’ teasing cross midway through the first-half was enough to stretch the hosts’ unbeaten run to 10 league games.
In League One, AFC Wimbledon’s Joe Pigott scored in the seventh minute of injury time as the Dons and Rochdale played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Plough Lane.
After dominating the opening 35 minutes, the Dons were caught napping from a corner and Jake Beesley tapped home.

Gabriel Osho doubled the lead just before the hour mark, but two quick goals – from Jack Rudoni and Ollie Palmer – had Wimbledon believing.
Jimmy Keohane then swooped low to head home and restore Dale’s lead, before Pigott intervened right at the death, to make amends for an earlier missed penalty.
There was also late drama at Charlton Athletic as the Addicks were forced to settle for a point with a 2-2 draw against Crewe Alexandra.
Jayden Stockley and Alex Gilbey had twice put them ahead only for Owen Dale’s brace – the second coming in the six minute of stoppage time – ensuring the game finished all square.
With results elsewhere going against them, Charlton now sit two points outside the top six, although they have a game in hand on their rivals.
