Brentford fell to a fourth defeat in six Championship games as they lost 1-0 to league leaders Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The game was settled by a moment of magic from midfield maestro Emi Buendia who scored a brilliant individual goal midway through the first half to give his side the points.

The result leaves Brentford in second, ten points behind the Canaries with 12 games left to play.

Meanwhile, it is now back-to-back defeats for QPR as they lost 3-1 to in-form Barnsley at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Charlie Austin’s equaliser cancelled out Daryl Dike’s opener but Alex Mowatt’s free-kick and Carlton Morris’ second-half goal gave the visitors the points.

In Tuesday night’s action, Mason Bennett’s late winner saw Millwall earn a 2-1 win over Preston North End at The Den and edge the Lions closer to the Championship Play-Off spots.

The deadlock was broken emphatically when Ched Evans lashed in a stunning early volley before Scott Malone levelled with a wonder goal of his own.

But Bennett beat the odds to win an aerial duel with Preston keeper Daniel Iversen and nod home the winner five minutes from time.
