Millwall are now winless in their last seven league games after losing 2-1 to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

It looked almost certain the Lions were going to claim a sixth consecutive draw after Harvey Elliott’s 25th minute strike was wiped out by Scott Malone’s thunderbolt nine minutes later.

But Adam Armstrong’s deflected strike in the first minute of stoppage time snatched victory for Rovers.

In League One, Charlton Athletic welcomed back 2,000 fans to The Valley but were unable to give them a night to remember with a 1-0 defeat to MK Dons.

Scott Fraser scored the only goal of the game as the in-form Addicks, who began the game in the top six, toiled throughout.

There was better news for AFC Wimbledon though, who claimed their first win back at Plough Lane with a 2-1 victory over Peterborough United .

Goals from Joe Pigott and Ryan Longman gave the Dons all three points with Jonson Clarke-Harris netting a late consolation for Posh.

In Tuesday night’s Championship action, second-half goals from Marcus Forss and Ivan Toney earned Brentford a 2-0 win at Rotherham United.

The Bees opened the scoring in the 57th minute when Forss fired home from 12 yards after being fed by Toney following Bryan Mbeumo’s cross.

Toney then notched a penalty eight minutes from time after Rotherham substitute Mickel Miller was sent off for hauling down Sergi Canos.

Meanwhile, QPR fell to a frustrating 2-1 home defeat to Bristol City after dominating much of the game.

Rob Dickie headed the Hoops ahead in a totally one-sided match before Nahki Wells equalised five minutes before half-time.

Adam Nagy then put the visitors ahead early in the second period with the Robins holding on for an unlikely win.
