QPR earned their first clean sheet of the season and first win in eight as they beat Preston North End 2-0 at the Kiyan Prince Foundation stadium.
Ebere Eze scored both goals, putting the Hoops ahead on 17 minutes after a defence-splitting Geoff Cameron pass.
And the forward made sure of the three points midway through the second-half, converting from the penalty spot after Marc Pugh had been tripped by Preston stopper Declan Rudd.
Elsewhere, Charlton Athletic’s poor form continued as George Saville’s opening minute strike gave Middlesbrough a 1-0 victory at the Riverside.
In a performance which saw the Addicks fail to register any chances of note, they have now won just twice in the last 14 games.
Brentford were also left frustrated, losing 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday despite Bryan Mbuemo opening the scoring in the first-half for the Bees.
However, two Steven Fletcher goals after the interval gave the Owls victory to leave Brentford ninth in the table, two points adrift of the Play-Off places.
Meanwhile, Fulham’s four-match winning league run came to an end with a 2-1 home defeat to Bristol City.

Josh Brownhill and Famara Diedhiou did the damage for the Robins with Aboubakar Kamara netting an 86th minute consolation for the Cottagers.
In League One, AFC Wimbledon had to settle for a point away to basement club Bolton Wanderers but remain three points above the drop zone.
Marcus Forss twice put the Dons ahead, with Daryl Murphy scoring to equalise initially before Joe Dodoo’s injury-time strike earned a 2-2 draw for the hosts.
