AFC Wimbledon are still searching for their first win of 2022 after losing 1-0 to Cambridge United at Plough Lane.

Adam May’s superb strike just after half-time proved to be the difference to condemn the Dons to a fifth straight League One defeat.

Elsewhere, Jayden Stockley’s second-half goal earned Charlton Athletic a 1-0 win at struggling Doncaster Rovers.

Conor Washington missed a penalty in the first-half as home goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell went the right way after Corey Blackett-Taylor had been brought down in the box by Kyle Knoyle.

But Stockley found the net in the 66th minute, poking into the bottom corner from the middle of the box before hitting the bar eight minutes later.

In League Two, Leyton Orient eased their relegation worries to run out 2-0 winners over lowly Barrow at a sold-out Brisbane Road.

Paul Smyth and Ruel Sotiriou were on the scoresheet as the O’s collected a third successive win, remaining unbeaten under new boss Richie Wellens.

And finally, Sutton United’s Play-Off hopes took a dent as they fell to a 2-0 defeat away to fellow promotion hopefuls Port Vale.

Jamie Proctor’s stunning acrobatic strike added to James Wilson’s early opener to sink a lacklustre Sutton side.
