Championship leaders Fulham took another step towards promotion back to the Premier League, moving 14 points clear at the top after cruising to a 5-1 victory at Swansea City.

Despite an even first-half, the Cottagers were given a boost when Swans defender Ryan Manning was shown a straight red card for a foul on Harry Wilson just before the break.

And it was Wilson who had a hand in Fulham’s opener early in the second period when he crossed for Aleksandar Mitrovic to score his 35th league goal of the season.

Swansea’s Ben Cabango deflected in an own goal in the 53rd minute, before Bobby Decordova-Reid nodded home a third with 17 minutes left.

Although Joel Piroe scored a swift consolation for the Swans, Neco Williams struck twice during the closing stages to seal a comprehensive win.

Meanwhile, Millwall’s five game winning run came to an end with a goalless draw away to Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers midfielder John Buckley hit the post, but neither side could make a breakthrough as the Lions remain just four points away from the Play-Offs.

And in League One, AFC Wimbledon remain perilously close to the bottom four after losing 2-0 at Plymouth Argyle.

The hosts took a 29th-minute lead through Ryan Hardie before Ryan Broom made sure of the victory just past the hour mark.

And in other news, Sutton United beat Wigan Athletic on penalties to reach the Papa John’s Trophy final following a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium.

Will Randall had put the Us ahead in the 29th minute only for James McClean to draw Wigan level ten minutes later.

But Sutton keeper Dean Bouzanis saved twice in the shoot-out and also scored from the spot as Sutton won 7-6 in sudden death penalties.
