AFC Wimbledon remain just above the League One relegation zone after Akin Famewo’s first career goal secured Charlton Athletic a 3-2 win at the Valley.

The Dons took the lead in the third minute through Ethan Chislett, but the hosts responded as Ryan Inniss and Conor Washington struck.

Ben Heneghan pegged the Addicks back in a thrilling first-half, but Famewo’s goal left the Dons one point above the bottom four after an 11-match winless streak.

In League Two, Sutton United returned to the automatic promotion spots despite Anthony Evans’ late penalty forcing them to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers.

Richie Bennett scored his first home goal since September to give the promotion-chasing Sutton the lead at Gander Green Lane.

But despite Rovers equalising through Evans’ late strike, Sutton’s unbeaten league run now stands at eight games.

And finally, Leyton Orient’s poor form continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to Colchester United.

The goal came in the fourth minute, straight after U’s goalkeeper Sam Hornby had punched clear a powerful header from Orient striker Aaron Drinan.

The ball was eventually played out to Corie Andrews, who crossed into the penalty area where Freddie Sears fired an unstoppable volley into the net.

The result means Orient have now taken just two points out of the last 21 and have also managed just one goal from their last five league matches.
