QPR moved up to fourth in the Championship table as Luke Amos’ late goal handed them a 1-0 win over fellow Play-Off hopefuls Huddersfield Town at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The visitors started brightly with Josh Koroma firing a curling, low effort towards goal which QPR keeper Seny Dieng did well to turn away for a corner.

However, the Hoops had the best opportunity of the first-half when Stefan Johansen’s corner found Yoann Barbet at the near-post, only for the Frenchman’s header to ricochet off the bar.

QPR kicked on in the second period and really should have gone ahead on the hour mark – a ferocious shot from Johansen was denied well by Huddersfield keeper Lee Nicholls, before Rob Dickie had a long-range effort from the follow-up that trickled wide.

But with the game heading towards stalemate, Chris Willock whipped in a cross that substitute Amos was on hand to head home to give the Hoops a 81st minute winner.

Key Points

Check out all the key talking points and reaction from London Football Scene below…

Key Moment

Chris Willock’s brilliant work on the right-hand side before delivering the pinpoint cross for Amos cannot go understated. Brilliant work from the 23-year-old.

Moan of the Match

Huddersfield’s Lee Nicholls was in no rush to get going throughout the match, constantly taking his time with goal-kicks – until Amos scored that is.

Talking Point

With Andre Gray and Lyndon Dykes injured, QPR had no direct replacement for the leggy Charlie Austin. Is it time to consider recalling Macauley Bonne from his Ipswich loan?

Man of the Match

Stefan Johansen – a dominant midfield display from the Norwegian, who set up numerous chances for his teammates throughout the match.

Tweet of the Match

Referee Watch

Graham Scott (Oxfordshire) – the Premier League official managed to frustrate both sets of fans with a string of late, incorrect and unnecessary decisions.

Atmosphere

Huddersfield fans jeered at the relatively quiet atmosphere tonight, but once they had the lead, the home fans were in great voice.

Verdict

A great win for Warburton’s side, who’ll be delighted to get one over their promotion rivals and further entrench themselves into the top six.
