Charlton Athletic moved out of the bottom four with a comfortable 4-0 win over an uninspiring Doncaster Rovers at the Valley.
In their first home game with Johnnie Jackson in temporary charge following Nigel Adkins’ sacking, Elliot Lee’s free-kick settled any early Charlton nerves after 21 minutes.
And it was quickly two as Conor Washington converted from the spot after Alex Gilbey was fouled after a surging run into the box.
Charlton continued to impose their authority after the break and duly scored a third when Doncaster keeper Pontus Dahlberg fumbled Lee’s free-kick straight into Jayden Stockley’s path for a simple tap-in.
Diallang Jaiyesimi then found space on the left-hand side to cross for Ben Purrington to round off the scoring with a 71st minute header.
The win is the first time this season Charlton have won successive league games as they move out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
