QPR moved into the top half of the Championship table with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
The Hoops showed more attacking intent in the opening exchanges with Stefan Johansen forcing Wycombe keeper David Stockdale to tip his 19th minute effort around the post.
However, QPR did manage to take the lead just four minutes later as Chris Willock’s wonderful footwork down the right hand side saw his cross find Ilias Chair to fire home.
After remaining uneventful for the rest of the half, QPR almost doubled their advantage three minutes after the interval when Chair’s strike from inside the box rattled the post.
Wycombe slowly began to up their tempo and were denied a 62nd minute penalty while at the other end QPR were denied a second time by the woodwork from a Willock strike.
And despite late Wycombe pressure, QPR held on to collect all three points and move up to 12th in the table.
