Millwall have now recorded just one win in their past 15 Championship games after losing 3-1 away to Nottingham Forest.
The hosts took the lead in the 34th minute as Sammy Ameobi’s long-range strike found the bottom corner before he doubled their advantage 20 minutes from time with a superb strike from 25 yards.
Ryan Yates then made it 3-0 with seven minutes remaining before Ben Thompson grabbed a consolation for the Lions.
In League One, Jake Forster-Caskey scored directly from a 64th minute corner to give 10-man Charlton Athletic a 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers.
Lee Bowyer’s side were reduced to 10 men five minutes from time when Albie Morgan saw a second yellow card for a challenge but Charlton held on.
Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon are now seven league games without a win after a 3-0 defeat to Sunderland at Plough Lane.
The visitors went ahead within seven minutes when Elliot Embleton’s ball over the top was just kept in play by Aiden O’Brien whose cut-back fell to the feet of Charlie Wyke to bundle home.
That would be the end of the scoring until the final three minutes of the game, where Wyke struck twice to complete the win.
And in League Two, Leyton Orient left it late before overcoming Morecambe 2-0 at Brisbane Road.
In the 88th minute, a wonderful cross from central defender Tunji Akinola glanced off the head of Shrimps’ Nathaniel Knight-Percival and into the net.
Then in the second minute of added time, Jobi McAnuff picked out Lee Angol, who stabbed the ball into the net from close range to put the result beyond doubt.
