QPR ended their 10-game winless run with an impressive 2-0 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
Charlie Austin, on his first start since returning to the club on a loan deal from West Bromwich Albion, opened the scoring with a header just before half-time.
And Macauley Bonne made sure of the win two minutes from time as the Hoops move up to 18th in the table – five points clear of the drop zone.
Meanwhile, Millwall substitute Matt Smith scored with his first touch to earn a 1-1 draw at AFC Bournemouth.
The 78th-minute introduction had barely been on the pitch a minute when he poked home Jake Cooper’s flick on to cancel out Dominic Solanke’s first-half strike.
And in League One, Charlton Athletic twice came back from two goals down to draw 4-4 at home to Rochdale.
Matty Lund and Kwadwo Baah put the visitors 2-0 up inside 21 minutes and although Chuks Aneke pulled one back Baah and Stephen Humphrys scored either side of Jake Forster-Caskey’s goal to make it 4-2 before the interval.
However, after the break Aneke headed in his second before teeing up Ronnie Schwarz for his first goal for the club as the Addicks scored twice in three minutes.
And there was still time left for Jason Pearce to be dismissed following a second yellow card two minutes from time after catching goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.
