Charlton Athletic slipped to a 1-0 defeat against League one strugglers MK Dons in a game where the Addicks welcomed back 2,000 fans to The Valley.
MK Dons dominated from the first whistle with Cameron Jerome fluffing an effort in the first minute after good combination play from Carlton Morris and Scott Fraser down the left.
Charlton keeper Ben Amos was also called into action twice in the first-half to deny Fraser while Ben Gladwin’s corner almost snuck in at his near post.
The Addicks continued to struggle after the interval and once again had Amos to thank for a superb low save to deny Morris in the 54th minute.
Charlton’s first real chance of the game came in the 69th minute when Conor Washington cut in off the left-hand side and rifled an effort straight into the arms of Andy Fisher in the MK goal.
The visitors eventually broke the deadlock in the 75th minute, Charlton affording Lasse Sorensen too much space to carry the ball forward before finding Fraser to fire home.
Charlton tried to rally late on with Darren Pratley hitting the bar in stoppage time but ultimately it was too little, too late.
