Brentford secured their third consecutive league win with a hard-fought 2-0 win against Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.
It was a cagey first-half as Rotherham’s pressing proved problematic for Brentford meaning the Bees’ only clear chance came after ten minutes through Ethan Pinnock, who could only send his header over the bar.
At the other end, David Raya was called into action on 41 minutes as Matt Crooks cut inside and whipped an effort towards the far corner only for the Brentford goalkeeper to be equal to it.
Brentford finally found the breakthrough on 58 minutes as Ivan Toney brought down Bryan Mbuemo’s deep cross and squared it to Marcus Forss, who made no mistake with the finish.
And Toney sealed the win late on from the penalty spot after Sergi Canos was brought down in the box by Mickel Miller, who was subsequently sent-off with his second yellow of the match.
