Millwall recorded their fifth consecutive draw with a goalless stalemate against Birmingham City in the fog at St Andrew’s.

Both sides lacked the guile to create chances and the penetration to finish off the rare opportunities that came their way in a largely dull affair.

In Friday night’s game, Brentford moved into the Championship Play-Off places with a 2-1 win over QPR in a fiercely contested West London derby.

Ivan Toney’s 12th goal of the season in the second-half proved enough for the Bees as the Hoops, who had Todd Kane sent-off late on, were left searching for their first win at their local rivals since 2003.

In League One, Charlton Athletic moved up to third in the table with an impressive 2-0 win over Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Midfielder Albie Morgan put the Addicks ahead on 21 minutes with substitute Omar Bogle adding a second after 68 minutes.

And in League Two, Leyton Orient recorded a third straight victory with a thrilling 3-2 win away at Port Vale.

Leon Legge gave the hosts the lead after just eight minutes with a powerful downward header before Orient responded three minutes later through Danny Johnson.

Conor Wilkinson’s 31st minute goal to make it 2-1 to the O’s was then cancelled out by a stunning Cristian Montano strike with 14 minutes of the game left to play.

But Orient found an unlikely winner five minutes from time as James Brophy scuffed home following a scramble in the box.
