AFC Wimbledon beat League Two side Barrow AFC 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw to set up an FA Cup Second Round home clash with Crawley Town on Sunday.

The Holker Street tie had been rearranged from its scheduled date of Saturday November 7 after a coronavirus outbreak among the Dons’ squad.

Both sides had chances to win the game in 90 minutes with Wimbledon wasting two early chances through Ollie Palmer and Will Nightingale before Barrow’s Dimitri Sea hit the post at the other end.

And in the closing moments of normal time Dior Angus was denied by a superb save from Dons keeper Nik Tzanev.

The Dons had the better chances in extra time with Jack Rudoni going close and Nightingale forcing Josh Lillis into a good save with a late swerving shot.

But it was Wimbledon who kept their nerve in the shoot-out with Rudoni sealing the win after successful spot-kicks from Ryan Longman, Shane McLoughlin and Steve Seddon.
