Brentford drew 1-1 with Swansea City in an entertaining fixture at the Brentford Community Stadium.
It was end to end early on with the best chances falling to the Swans as Kyle Naughton’s volleyed effort and Andre Ayew’s thunderous strike were both brilliantly saved by Brentford keeper David Raya.
However, it was Brentford who opened the scoring in the 36th minute, Mathias Jensen’s low cross fired home by Ivan Toney via some excellent footwork from Bryan Mbuemo.
A cagey second-half saw few clear-cut chances for either side despite Swansea dominating possession.
Viktor Gyorkes fired wide from five yards out for the visitors while Henrik Dalsgaard saw his free header fly wildly over the bar at the other end.
The Swans eventually found an equaliser through Andre Ayew after Brentford failed to clear Matt Grimes’ low ball across the six yard box, allowing the Swansea forward to tuck home to set up a frantic final ten minutes.
And a late Ayew goal seemed to give Swansea all three points, only for the linesman’s flag to go up to rule it out for outside and ensure Brentford claimed a point.
