Millwall made it back-to-back wins in the Championship for the first time this season with a 2-0 win over Luton Town.
The Lions were dominant in the opening period with Luton keeper Simon Sluga saving well from both Jed Wallace and Connor Mahoney.
First Wallace was denied from close range after Matt Smith’s effort hit the woodwork before Mahoney’s long-range drive was parried away.
However the deadlock was finally broken on the stroke of half-time when Smith’s goal-bound effort from a Mahoney corner was deflected past Sluga by Martin Cranie for an own goal.
Millwall could then have doubled their lead just minutes after the interval through Wallace after a neat one-two with Mason Bennett.
And although Luton grew into the game, Mahoney eventually extended the Lions’ advantage in the 79th minute with an effort which went in off the post.
Cranie nearly gave the visitors hope of a comeback late on, but Millwall keeper Bartosz Bialkowski made a brilliant save from close range to ensure the clean sheet and all three points for Gary Rowett’s side.
