AFC Wimbledon claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Swindon Town in a low-key affair at the County Ground.

Swindon started the brighter with Dons keeper Connal Trueman saving well from Diallang Jaiyesimi and Brett Pitman’s free-kick.

However it was Wimbledon who took the lead, Joe Pigott finding space in the Swindon box to fire home from close-range just before the half-hour mark.

The hosts rarely threatened to get something from the game after that with Wimbledon also happy to sit on their one-goal advantage.

Jaiyesimi had Swindon’s best second-half effort as well, shooting wide from the edge of the box while Steve Seddon also fired over for Wimbledon late on.
