Leyton Orient rescued an unlikely point with a 1-1 draw at League Two newcomers Barrow AFC despite being down to ten-men for the majority of the game.

O’s defender Dan Happe was dismissed for fouling Luke James as he raced in on goal after just nine minutes with Barrow taking the lead soon after.

A neat passing move was finished by Josh Kay in the 16th minute with Leyton Orient rarely threatening for the remainder of the half.

However, all that changed five minutes after the restart as Barrow surrendered possession cheaply and Orient broke with Danny Johnson latching onto Craig Clay’s through ball and producing a fierce finish to level.

Barrow edged their guests in terms of chances but with no one able to capitalise in a hard-fought – and often bad-tempered – second half, were forced to share the points.
