Brentford blew a two-goal first-half lead as Preston North End roared back to win 4-2 in a high scoring encounter at the Brentford Community Stadium.
It was a bright start for the Bees, as Josh Dasilva picked the ball up in plenty of space and flashed in a low cross towards Ivan Toney, who turned the ball into the net in the eighth minute.
Toney then grabbed his brace just before half-time after a sensational pass from Sergi Canos found Bryan Mbuemo, who squared it to the Brentford frontman to finish off a sensational team goal.
However, PNE pulled a goal back shortly after the restart through Scott Sinclair, who slotted home after Patrick Bauer’s knockdown.
And the equaliser came not too long after with Sinclair drilling his second into the back of the net from a tight angle on the hour mark.
Just three minutes later, Brad Potts put the Lilywhites on top with a shot that froze Luke Daniels in his goal, and a fourth from Sean Maguire put the game well out of the Bees’ reach.
Brentford have now lost two of their opening four Championship fixtures, while Preston secured their first win of the new season.
