Millwall and Brentford played out an entertaining 1-1 Championship draw at The Den courtesy of goals from Jed Wallace and Ivan Toney.
The Lions were the better side in the opening exchanges and deservedly took the lead after just four minutes following a good move down the left.
Scott Malone found Mason Bennett who weaved his way around Pontus Jansson before crossing for Wallace to head past Brentford keeper Luke Daniels.
The lead didn’t last too long though as Thomas Frank’s side grew into the game, causing Millwall’s backline problems before Ivan Toney won a penalty which he duly converted after 21 minutes.
Toney was a constant thorn in Millwall’s side and were it not for a number of crucial interventions by Alex Pearce arguably could have scored more on the day.
However, the Bees struggled to force too many clear cut chances and Millwall perhaps had the best chance to win it in the 71st minute when Tom Bradshaw fired wide from Bennett’s superb flick.
