Fulham’s Championship promotion bid received a much-needed boost with a 2-1 win over out-of-form QPR at the Kiyan Prince Foundation stadium.

Jordan Hugill headed the Hoops into a first-minute lead before Harry Arter forced an equaliser amid a Liam Kelly error in the QPR goal.

But Cyrus Christie’s stunning first league goal for the Cottagers sealed the side’s first points since the league resumption, following defeats by Brentford and Leeds.

Meanwhile, Brentford extended their 100 percent record since the league’s resumption to three matches with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Reading.

Bryan Mbeumo gave the Bees the lead mid-way through the first-half, stooping to nod home his 15th goal of the season.

Josh Dasilva increased their advantage just past the hour mark and Joel Valencia added a third goal in the 90th minute to move within two points of second-placed West Bromwich Albion.

Elsewhere, Millwall’s Play-Off bid both took a further hit after a frustrating 1-1 draw with Swansea City at the Den.

Derby County loanee Mason Bennett fired the Lions ahead in the first-half, but Rhian Brewster’s free-kick forced an own-goal from goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski in the 66th minute to earn a share of the spoils.

And finally, Charlton Athletic  maintained their unbeaten record since the return of football with a goalless draw away to Cardiff City.

The result means the Addicks remain 18th in the table but now four points from the drop zone.
