Millwall’s charge towards the Play-Offs continued with a convincing 2-0 win over Reading at The Den.
The Lions dominated the opening period but failed to capitalise – Tom Bradshaw’s 29th minute header straight into the hands of Reading keeper Rafael the closest they came.
Millwall’s superiority continued after the break and it was only a matter of time before they broke the deadlock; Matt Smith duly obliging with a powerful 71st minute strike.
And they should have doubled their advantage immediately afterwards had Smith not inadvertently blocked team-mate Jayson Molumby’s venomous strike on the line.
However, it wasn’t long before the second goal did come as Reading piled bodies forward in search of an equaliser, allowing the Lions to take advantage on the break.
And it was substitute Jon Dadi Bodvarsson who sealed the win in the 82nd minute with the result moving the Lions up to seventh in the table.
