Charlton Athletic’s miserable run of just one win in 14 Championship matches continued with a 1-0 defeat at Swansea City.
With an injury-ravaged side, the Addicks fell behind after just 14 minutes as Yan Dhanda curled the ball into the bottom corner following neat Swansea build-up play.
The hosts were in complete control in the opening period but were denied a second by some heroic goalkeeping from Charlton’s Dillon Phillips as well as the woodwork.
First Phillips denied Andre Ayew with a sprawling save with the loose ball finding its way to George Byers only to lash his low effort against the upright.
The Addicks improved in the second-half with substitute Alfie Doughty dragging a shot wide but ultimately Lee Bowyer’s side could not find a way back into the game.
The result means Charlton remain 19th in the table but now just five points clear of the bottom three.
