Millwall’s fine form under new boss Gary Rowett continued as the Lions beat Swansea City 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium.
Jed Wallace found the top corner with a set-piece strike after 65 minutes to secure a first away win of the season for the Lions.
The result means Millwall have now claimed 10 points from five games since Rowett took over in October.
Meanwhile, Brentford recorded their fifth win from their last six games with a 1-0 home win over Reading.
Ollie Watkins’ well-taken 62nd minute header was his 11th goal of the campaign and moves the Bees closer to the Play-Off places.
In the day’s early game, Charlton Athletic were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Cardiff City in Neil Harris’ first game in charge of the Bluebirds.
Conor Gallagher and Jonathan Leko had the Addicks 2-0 up before the break but Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Lee Tomlin turned things around after it.
In League One, AFC Wimbledon moved further away from the drop zone as Scott Wagstaff’s first-half goal against former club Gillingham earned the Dons a 1-0 win at Kingsmeadow.
And finally, Leyton Orient lost 4-2 to Forest Green Rovers at Brisbane Road in a fiery encounter which also saw Orient’s interim manager Ross Embleton sent to the stands.
Former Orient loanee Ebou Adams scored twice and Matt Stevens added another before the interval while Matt Harrold and Jordan Maguire-Drew reduced the deficit after the break.
Leyton Orient were then denied a leveller when Josh Coulson hit the post before substitute Junior Mondal sealed Forest Green’s win in the 88th minute.
