AFC Wimbledon’s winless run now stands at five games in all competitions following a 2-0 away defeat to high-flying Blackpool.

The hosts dominated the opening period but were unable to break the deadlock as Sullay Kaikai fired against the crossbar from outside the area with Nathan Delfouneso hooking the rebound over.

However Blackpool did take the lead six minutes after the restart, Armand Gnanduillet rifling home following good build-up play from Delfouneso.

And Gnanduillet doubled the advantage with nine minutes remaining after slotting home Liam Feeney’s cross from close range.

AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Nathan Trott then parried Joe Nuttall’s late effort into the path of Kaikai only for the forward to fail to find a finish while at the other end Jak Alnwick denied Marcus Forss.

The result leaves AFC Wimbledon 20th in the table with only goal difference separating them from MK Dons and a place in the bottom three.
