Charlton Athletic hold a narrow advantage over Doncaster Rovers in their League One Play-Off Semi-Final after a 2-1 win at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Two quick-fire goals in two first-half minutes from Lyle Taylor and Joe Aribo appeared to put the Addicks on course for the Wembley final – only for Matty Blair’s late strike to keep the tie alive.
In an end-to-end opening, Doncaster’s Danny Andrew hit the bar with a superb 30-yard free-kick before Taylor’s stooping header from close range opened the scoring in the 32nd minute.
The striker then turned provider two minutes later, playing Aribo in for a cool finish past goalkeeper Doncaster keeper Marko Marosi.
It looked enough to give Lee Bowyer’s side a comfortable margin to take back to the Valley for Friday’s second leg – until Blair scrambled the ball home in the 87th minute.
The winner will go on to face Portsmouth or Sunderland on 26 May, with the Black Cats having won the first leg of their semi-final on Saturday.
