Brentford recorded an impressive 2-0 Easter Monday victory over high-flying Leeds United at Griffin Park.

The visitors had the better of the first-half chances and could have had a penalty when Patrick Bamford was tripped by Julian Jeanvier in the 16th minute.

However the Bees grew into the game and took the lead on the stroke of half-time – Neal Maupay curling home a stunning 25-yard drive.

After the interval Brentford dominated with Sergi Canos making it 2-0 just after the hour mark, dinking the ball over Leeds stopper Kiko Casilla.

Maupay then saw a volley tipped over the bar by Casilla while Canos should have added another as well, beating three players only to be foiled by the outstretched hand of Casilla.

In the end, it was a worthy win for Brentford who remain comfortably 15th in the table while the defeat severely dents Leeds automatic promotion bid.
