Jake Cooper’s stoppage time equaliser saw Millwall claim a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane
After an even first-half, the game sprung to life early in the second period when substitute Gary Madine put United ahead in the 51st minute.
Millwall responded well with Jed Wallace and Mahlon Romeo going close for the Lions before Sheffield United’s John Egan was dismissed for a deliberate handball on the line.
Ben Marshall stepped up to take the resultant penalty only to see it rattle against the bar and go out of play.
However, the Lions did find an equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time, Cooper on hand to head home after Elliott’s initial effort was well saved by Blades keeper Dean Henderson.
The draw means Millwall drop one place to 20th and are now just two points above the drop zone with five games still to play.
