Brentford claimed their first win in six league matches with a comfortable 2-0 victory over bottom side Ipswich Town.

The Bees started the encounter brightly and broke the deadlock with a classic counter-attacking move in the 20th minute.

Collin Quaner’s clipped shot bounced off the post with the Bees breaking away; Said Benrahma’s threaded pass expertly finished low inside the post by Neal Maupay.

Seven minutes later it was 2-0 as Benrahma pounced on an Ipswich slip to square for Ollie Watkins for a simple tap-in.

Maupay, Benrahma and Watkins all had further chances to kill the game off as the visitors rarely troubled Luke Daniels goal.

However, the Brentford stopper had to be alert to tip over Andre Dozzell’s free-kick while Alan Judge also fired wide late on.
