Bottom of the table AFC Wimbledon played out a goalless draw against fellow League One strugglers Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow.

The hosts had the better of the first-half chances – Dons keeper Aaron Ramsdale saving well from Tyrese Campbell and Ollie Norburn’s long-range effort while Josh Laurent also headed over the bar.

Campbell then went close again for the Shrews early in the second period while Joe Pigott and Michael Folivi had the best efforts for AFC Wimbledon.

Shrewsbury, arguably the better side throughout, then saw a late Luke Waterfall header saved by Ramsdale to ensure the Dons came away from Shropshire with a point.

The result means Shrewsbury are now unbeaten in their last five games and 17th in the table, three points above the relegation zone while Wimbledon are nine points from safety.
