Millwall’s slide towards the drop zone continued as table-toppers Norwich City cruised to a 3-1 victory at The Den.
The Canaries took the lead in the 16th minute when Marco Stiepermann fired home a rebound after a fine Jordan Archer save.
However parity was restored on the stroke of half-time as Shaun Williams headed in off the upright after Steve Morison’s clever flick on from a corner.
Norwich regained the lead through Christoph Zimmermann’s bullet header in the 69th minute before Teemu Pukki put the game out of reach 10 minutes later.
The Lions should have halved the deficit as Steve Morison and Mahlon Romeo were both thwarted by a fine double save from Tim Krul while at the other end Archer denied Pukki a second and Norwich fourth.
The defeat means Millwall not only record back-to-back home defeats for the first time since October 2016 but are now just one point above the drop zone.
