Jed Wallace’s 73rd minute strike was enough to earn Millwall just their second away win of the season.
Wallace fired under Kelle Roos after good work from Lee Gregory in a clinical counter-attacking move which also signalled the first shot on target of the match.
In an encounter of few chances, Jack Marriott squandered Derby’s best opportunity early in the second period after getting beyond Shaun Hutchinson and Jake Cooper.
The Rams were sparked into life after Wallace’s strike with Millwall stopper Jordan Archer forced into an excellent save deep into stoppage time.
But Neil Harris’ side stood firm to pick-up just their 10th away point of the campaign and move five points clear of the Championship dropzone.
