Brentford eased into the Fifth Round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 victory over non-league Barnet at Griffin Park.
After a scintillating six-goal thriller at The Hive eight days earlier earned the minnows a replay, there was to be no heroics this time round.
Sergi Canos opened the scoring with a simple tap-in as early as the seventh minute after good work from Said Benrahma.
And the home side then doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark – Julian Jeanvier volleying home a sumptuous Benrahma free-kick.
In an ill-tempered second period, Barnet rallied and saw Craig Robson’s header crash against the crossbar as they searched for a way back into the contest.
However Brentford were continually able to break at will and Neal Maupay, after being twice denied previously, made it three in the 71st minute.
And although Barnet managed a consolation through David Tutonda’s exquisite turn and shot (74), it will be Brentford who face Championship rivals Swansea at the Liberty Stadium in the next round.
