QPR came from behind to draw 1-1 with League One pacesetters Portsmouth in a lively Fratton Park encounter.

Nahki Wells spared the Championship side’s blushes after Pompey had taken the lead through a Joel Lynch own goal.

In an even first-half, Portsmouth keeper Craig MacGillivray saved well from Darnell Furlong’s flicked header while at the other end Louis Dennis saw his dipping volley tipped over by Joe Lumley.

Brett Pitman then went close early in the second period – impressively found by Dennis but lifting his effort over the bar with Lumley stranded.

Pompey then took the lead in the 63rd minute as Hoops defender Lynch sliced Lee Brown’s cross into his own net.

However, the lead lasted just 11 minutes as QPR forward Wells smashed home a Luke Freeman corner from close range.

And with neither side able to find a winner it means a replay at Loftus Road on Tuesday, February 5th.
